“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God,
you will receive what He has promised.”
Hebrews 10:36
I had the wonderful opportunity to go hiking with a great bunch of young adults. Beautiful mountains and talks around the fire. Very difficult to get them to talk because adults love to give advise that mean well and this young people had enough.
Made me think about what to say to them. See, the fact is that we can share about God with them, we can give advise but we don’t know what God have planned for them. Yes, we know its something good, but we can’t tell them what. Look at David for example. When he got ready to fight Goliath, Saul though he meant well to prepare him for the battle and it didn’t work for him, it didn’t fit. David instead took stones, something Saul would never have thought about. But God had something different planned for David, something that worked out great, something that honored God and something that people could see God’s hand in.
People won’t always agree with our decisions. One can try other people’s advise for awhile, but one answer don’t always fit all. We all have different skills and experiences that God gave us. Talk to Him, ask Him for advise and then listen! He gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us, and He’s on our side, always wanting the best for us.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generous
to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you”
James 1:5
